Students have to undergo the “F1 in Schools” Programme to pick up key skills in
the following areas:
1. BUSINESS PLAN
Students would have to craft out a portfolio detailing what they intend to do in
the whole process
Students have to incorporate a marketing element where they will work out
sponsorship proposals to garner support for production of their own exclusive
race jackets, caps etc
2. DESIGN
Students would learn to use 3D design software such as SolidWorks to design a
R-type F1 race car
3. ANALYZE
A software known as “Virtual Wind Tunnel” would be used to determine if their
design is optimal for high speed racing
4. MAKE
Students would get to manufacture a car, based on their own design using a CNC
Router
5. TEST
The aerodynamics of the manufactured F1 race car would then be tested out in an
actual wind tunnel
6. RACE
Students participate in time trials to test out the performance of their cars
and improve their reaction times
Teams would then proceed to participate in the “F1 in Schools Technology
Challenge”
